As one of five Trustees for the foundation, we work to support projects and initiatives that promote the well being, health and visibility of LGBTI communities of Aotearoa. I was appointed for my experience in the LGBTI and youth sectors, and in particular my networks with LGBTI youth organisations, networks and people around the country. We are tasked with preserving a $4+ million capital base. In 2019 we were asked to administer the Rainbow Wellbeing Legacy Fund on behalf of government, as part of reparations for those convicted prior to homosexual law reform in 1986. Selected for my strong knowledge in accounting practices, attention to detail, and experience in finance within the charitable sector. Currently leading a collaborative research project to understand philanthropic funding of Rainbow communities in Aotearoa. By establishing a baseline in our country, comparing with global statistics and providing an evidence base for decision-making, I hope to significantly improve funding that benefits the Rainbow communities. Business Development. Advised the company Director over four years in the growth of her business, aligned to personal and professional values while meeting her financial needs. This included a lens for evaluating opportunities for work, growth of a project-orientated team and regular reflection sessions. Non-profit advisory. Provided extensive governance and operations advice to numerous non-profit clients. Areas of advisory covered incorporation, financial management, fundraising, crisis management, senior leadership transition, recruitment, and governance practice. Proposal development. Led/heavily involved in the scoping and development of all large proposals. My unique contributions are in the scoping and costing of organisational resource requirements and the phasing of work. Evaluation and reporting. Conducted campaign evaluations, drafted end of project reporting for clients and the community, and developed the evaluation and reporting abilities of others on the team. Asked to join the Board during a cashflow crunch, and directly before a significant backlash. I successfully guided the organisation through the cashflow crisis, while enabling the delivery of the immediate festival. Concurrently guided and advised the wider Board on navigating the backlash successfully. Subsequently developed and implemented a proposal to significantly restructure the organisation, which has set the organisation on a path to growth and success. • Transgender Health Project Manager
      • Jan 2017 - Jan 2019

First role of its kind in the Transgender Health space in Aotearoa New Zealand, and one of few regional projects covering four DHBs. Over the course of two years, I worked to establish a meaningful community advisory process, improve consistency and access to gender affirming healthcare, increase visibility and knowledge of gender diverse people within the DHBs, and secure budget for areas of new service provision. I successfully worked with senior leaders from across the four DHBs to gain buy-in and support for Transgender Health, resulting in programmes of work which are continuing past the end of my fixed term contract. During my time with RainbowYOUTH, I grew the organisation from a small Auckland focused organisation into one with nationwide programmes, excellent brand awareness, and a more than threefold increase in annual turnover.Significantly contributed to setting RainbowYOUTH up for the future, with the organisation continuing to grow and expand rapidly following my departure. The key skills which most contributed to this growth are: my ability to see the big picture; tendency to create environments that enable others to thrive; understanding and driving marketing and communications; and ability to push forward work programmes.
