I am a big fan of Lance Kramer and the work of Meridian Hill Pictures. Lance is also a friend and a wise person and someone I turn to frequently for advice and counsel on many subjects including and beyond documentary film. You can't go wrong working with him.

The Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless worked with Lance, Brandon and Ellie from Meridian Hill Pictures several years ago, on a film to mark the Legal Clinic's 25th anniversary. We were looking for film makers who honored the importance - and impact - of the voices of our clients, and the film they made, A Journey Home, lifted up the importance of those voices. They were deeply committed to helping the community members who were our clients tell their stories, I their own words. We had a great experience with Lance, et al. They listened, they were responsive, and they truly were a joy to work with.

In 2010 I co-founded Meridian Hill Pictures with my brother Brandon in Washington, DC. We like to make films that tell personal stories about people navigating the complexities of our world. We pour a lot of love into the stories we tell, the relationships we build, and the way we bring films into the world. Over the past decade, we have created two award-winning independent feature length documentaries: CITY OF TREES (2016, Netflix, PBS) and THE FIRST STEP (2021, Tribeca); several award-winning independent docu-series including THE MESSY TRUTH (2016, Webby Award Winner), SAABA (2017, AFI DOCS), and more than 30 short films commissioned by organizations such as the US Institute of Peace, AARP, National Park Service and John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Show less
