At GreenValley I helped to build and maintain the GreenValley Zaaksysteem, an administrative midoffice application aimed at municipal and other governmental organizations who want to apply a case-oriented workflow. Our team employed Scrum and I mainly worked with Java and SQL. My 3 greatest contributions to the product are: • Redesign the subsystem for personal data, to support pull-based updates from external data sources • Extend the object registration so objects linked to cases can be linked to data from external sources, presenting the user with the latest data • Redesign the audit trail to guarantee integrity and completeness Show less

Summer Internship

As a preparation for my Master thesis I completed a student internship at the video coding expert team at AL’s Bell Labs (Now Nokia Bell Labs) in Antwerp. During the internship I completed two tasks: • Profiling: investigate the coding tools available in the then-draft HEVC/H.265 codec, including their effect on coding efficiency and encoding time for 8K UHDTV streams. • Visualization: develop an analytic tool that visualized the coding tree structure (the variable block sizes) on each frame. As a part of my Master degree, I was awarded a score of 17/20 for this internship. Show less
