      Laboratório de Processos Químicos (UERJ) Project: Modification of refined cellulose fibers by the addition of nitrile rubber. This study aimed to prepare and characterize cellulose pulps with different degrees of refining, in order to produce materials with distinguished properties. In addition, the refined cellulosic pulp was mixed with nitrile rubber latex (NBR) by the coagulation process in order to produce refined cellulosic pulps coated with NBR rubber. All samples were tested by SEM, TGA and FTIR. It was possible to prove the morphological difference of the fiber after different degrees of refining and the effectiveness of the incorporation of NBR by the method used. The results were presented at the 15th Brazilian Polymer Congress (2019). Show less

      Laboratório de Tecnologia Enzimática (UERJ) Project: Synthesis of esters using heterogeneous catalysts. This work aimed to study the enzymatic synthesis of ethyl esters from the reaction between acid soy oil and ethanol using two commercial immobilized lipases. It was possible to observe at the end of the studies that the use of two series reactors allowed a high ethyl ester yield (> 90%) and a high acid conversion (> 90%). The samples were analyzed by chromatography and potentiometry. Publication of the article "Evaluation of continuous ethyl ester synthesis from acid soybean oil using a dual immobilized enzyme system" in the journal Biomass & Bioenergy. Show less
