Melissa Dallmeyer
I worked with Barret for two years at PwC on various projects. On one of our projects, we had the responsibility of determining the footprint of software installations at the customers of a software client. This entailed taking raw data outputs that contained details about software installations and deduplicating/summarizing this data according to our client's licensing policies in order to develop an accurate picture of the licensee's software usage. With minimal technical input from senior staff, Barret developed a Microsoft Access tool to automate the process of importing, normalizing, and performing quality checks on the data, and ultimately providing a data set that could be used by the project team to develop accurate footprints. On another project for a separate software client, Barret developed and maintained an Excel workbook template that the entire project team used to perform data analysis for software compliance audits. After less than a year on this project, Barret assumed the role of lead technical staff member. He developed a knack for taking innovative and appropriate steps to understand a data set and point out completeness and accuracy issues, while also coaching other team members in this process. In my time working with him, Barret demonstrated the ability to understand the details of a data set without getting lost in it while having the necessary communication skills to derive meaning from the data and present the bigger picture to non-technical team members.
