Spellman is a global organization with approximately 2,500 employees and manufacturing operations in Hauppauge and Valhalla, New York; Matamoros, Mexico; Bochum, Germany; Pulborough, UK; and Suzhou, China. The company also has pre and post sale support operations in Japan, India and Korea. As Chief Financial Officer, I oversee the Global Finance and Accounting Organizations, including Financial Reporting, Operations Accounting, Treasury and Legal. I am based in the Hauppauge, New York headquarters of the company but travel regularly to the various global operations. I also managed the procurement and facilities functions for over one year of my tenure at Spellman. In my role, I have developed an atmosphere of coaching and mentoring my group with a focus on business partnering and continuous improvement in actionable information, strategic initiatives and profitability. Working with Various financial institutions, I have increased access to additional financing, providing liquidity to support the global expansion needs as well as operational needs of the company. Working with my peer executive leaders, I have lead the process of establishing new legal business entities in China, Singapore and India. By working with my contacts in the financial industry, we were able to obtain additional financing through the COVID-19 pandemic challenges, where we obtained over $5 million of debt forgiveness.
