-Direct reports to Chief Mate to maintain ships systems, handle working lines to depart and arrive at dock, conduct traditional sailing maneuvers, set up for events and maintenance of public areas of vessel, as well as engage with passengers and guests. -Duties included the maintenance of vessel’s mechanical and electrical systems including diesel engines and generators, pumps, and sanitary systems to ensure optimum ship performance as well as front of house operations -Maintained bi-hourly engine and systems logs and conducted engine room inspections mandated by Great Lakes Schooner Company and Transport Canada. -Adaptively managed up to 4 deck staff per shift through various rapidly changing circumstances depending on weather conditions and scale of guests during cruises.
