  My responsibilities include designing lectures and work shops for lectures, teaching classes ranging from 10-70 students, and meeting weekly with executive fellows to ensure that the curriculum being taught meets the values and missions of the Everett Program. Through this experience I have gained confidence in public speaking, improved my ability to connect with students on a one-on-one level, and enabled my ability to learn and teach tech tools so they can be implemented in projects regarding social change at the community level. • Mapping Racial Injustice

  In partnership with Gateways through the Everett Program at UC Santa Cruz, I collaborated with a team of 4 to create a digital story map of locations in Santa Cruz that hold histories of injustice. This role required me to identify reliable sources of history, draft narratives to highlight impacted communities, and think critically about the use of graphic design in representing injustice. Our team developed a series of Instagram posts to promote our research and story map, one of which reached 1000 accounts and over 1200 impressions. Our story map received over 1000 viewers within the first month of promotion. Show less
