This role allowed me to uphold current sponsorships with companies such as Spencer Properties and contact other companies in the Leeds area that will benefit students and provide them with a greater University experience. This resulted in working with Voodoo Events, Bongo's Bingo, Whistle Punk Axe Throwing and Hyde Park Picture House. This role also allowed me to learn about pricing structures for advertisements and what companies are willing to pay for on and off air advertisements. Furthermore, allowed me to work with pre-existing sponsorship contracts and edit them to suit the client’s needs for future partnerships with Leeds Student Radio.🥇BEST STATION BRANDING - Student Radio Awards Show less

Producing and Presenting my own music show ‘Putting The Uk in The USA Monday’s 1-2pm (CDT) 7-8pm (GMT). This show centers around my experience as a Study Aboard Student and how my experience in Oxford, MS is different from my time at the University of Leeds. In semester 2 I reformatted the show to become my ‘Weekly Wrapped’ where I let Spotify’s Discover Weekly Playlist create the shows playlist. This allowed me to authentically review the music whilst also expanding my own music and music artist knowledge. Along with this reformat it also got moved to Tuesday’s 11-12 (CDT) 5-6 (GMT). This show unlike ‘Putting the UK in the USA’ centered around the music and my links were more snappy and occasionally more insightful about the artist or music the audience had just heard. This is my first time having a radio show that centers fully around the music and felt like a very professional show concept that I’m glad I tested whilst abroad! Show less

I was fortunate enough to be offered a Follow Spot Position for Alcina an Opera that was put on by the School of Music in the Gertrude C Ford Center on the University of Mississippi Campus. This was my first experience working crew and or a tech position for an opera and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This was a great one week freelance position, working all of tech week plus the three show dates. I didn’t understand much of the music given it was in Latin but it was certainly fun creating a new storyline in my head during each show! Show less

      • Jan 2023 - May 2023

After working 50 hours in the Electric Shop in my first semester at the University of Mississippi I was offered a job with the electrics department for the Theatre Department. This job has taught me to apply myself in many ways and always be confident to ask questions when I don’t understand something. This job has prepared me for any basic level of theatre electrician jobs, learning how to hang, focus and strike lights, cables, gels and gobos. This job has had high pressure elements being high up in the air during Genie Lift Operations and or up in the Grid but it is a job I’m extremely grateful for and I feel as though I have learnt more about backstage theatre positions and theatre electrics then I ever have before and would not trade this experience or job for the world.
