Dr. MacDonald provided engineering support for SPAWAR, the Navy’s Information Warfare Solutions systems command. He was engaged in several programs, including the development of the Ultra High Frequency Follow-On (UFO) satellite system for narrowband tactical communications, as well as the MIDS-LVT, an advanced Link-16 C4I system incorporating high capacity, jam-resistant, digital communications for the exchange of near real time tactical information.
