Bio
Joe Lehocky, SHRM-SCP
I had the pleasure of supervising Grace Senra in her role as a Resident Assistant. Three qualities that stood out about Grace was her problem solving, teamwork, and creativity. Grace is a very solutions oriented professional. She was faced with many challenges on her floor. However, she had the rare ability to address student concerns objectively, ensuring she did not take sides during disagreements, and supported students in coming up with positive solutions/outcomes. Grace built very positive rapport with her residents and was able to handle any issue that came her way, escalating concerns when appropriate. Grace also worked effectively on teams. Whether it be planning programs, responding to incidents, and serving on a committee, Grace had the rare ability to take on various roles within a group. She could take charge of a more passive team or take a step back when there where several alphas. Her flexibility allowed her to collaborate well with a wide range of individuals. Grace was also very creative in her role. She found very relevant ways to engage her residents on different educational topics, placing extensive time and dedication into her bulletin boards, programs, one on ones, etc. Students enjoyed Grace’s initiatives, and administration admired Grace’s ability to effectively educate students on university learning outcomes. I would highly recommend Grace for any future employment endeavor she pursues.
