I have known Iolanda Micco after joining the company Siena Biotech, in particular as member of the project she was leading. The project (regarding the development of small molecules antagonists of the S1P3 receptor, as target in Alzheimer’s therapeutic area) was developed from target identification up to lead optimization phase. Her knowledge of the drug discovery process (supported also by her strong chemistry experience) together with a good proactivity, passion for research and a natural attitude of motivating project members, contributed for a formidable burst in the progression of the project, which was able to reach a high level of development during her leadership. The project was successively acquired by Teva-Pharma and re-patented. Iolanda is present among patent’s authors. Professionally, I had long and pleasant discussions about science learning a lot about medicinal chemistry from her. Mutually, she was always open and willing to acquire different perspectives and concepts (e.g. of neuropharmacology, in vitro biology,, etc.) other than her specialization. Personally, I have always appreciated her open, cheerful and friendly character. Iolanda is an extremely competent, dynamic, motivated and energetic scientist. Collaboration, communication, positive attitude, management skills and team working are amongst Iolanda’s strongest qualities. Davide Franceschini, PhD

I worked with Iolanda at the beginning of our careers in the medicinal chemistry lab and we were a great team! She has the good mindset of continuous learning and great management skills. She has always new ideas and finds creative solutions for trobleshooting. Her positive attitude released energy in the team and gave motivation to colleagues when the workload was high. I’d really like to work with her again.

Vipergen is a world leading provider of small molecule drug discovery services based on DNA-encoded library (DEL) technologies. As senior data analysis I had key roles in the generation of high-quality data for our partners (pharma and biotech companies worldwide):• Data analysis of complex chemical datasets coming from screening campaigns for different types of targets and many different therapeutic areas (oncology, inflammation, allergy, skin diseases etc…). It required the knowledge of cheminformatics tools, digital platforms and logical skills for an appropriate data interpretation.• Medicinal chemistry support to our partners• Communication with external partners and stakeholders • Project management Show less
