Upon hire at PennWell, Kat had the daunting task of getting up to speed more quickly than the norm as I entrusted her with the brands I’d represented for years. She showed up with a can-do spirit, ready to roll up her sleeves, and fully embedded herself within teams who had worked together for years — while quickly gaining their trust as well. What stood out to me most is her ability to always maintain her composure and to do so with a positive attitude far beyond her years. She embraces change with the utmost of professionalism and welcomes feedback as if she's driven by the will to constantly learn and improve. There is no job too big or too small for her and I’d welcome the opportunity to work with her again.

Kat joined The REFUGE Group as an intern for the summer of 20 I I. Her position was Social Media Coordinator. The job description required the individual to have a knowledge of The REFUGE Group's client's business (mostly retail) and to conduct a competitive analysis of the competition in their particular industry, in order to post to Facebook and Twitter for the benefit of the client. Kat was enormously successful with her research and postings and received excellent interaction between the posts and those viewing them. In addition to the "stated" job description, Kat took the initiative to get involved client liaison efforts, editing assistance and any other challenge she could conceive on her own or was handed by management. Kat was a terrific self-starter and possesses initiative that I have not seen in most employees- especially an intern. Kat undoubtedly has all the technical skills required of this job and will be quick to learn any that she lacks. She is responsible, detailed, trustworthy and capable of completing any project she is handed either on time or earlier. She is personable and is just at much at ease with the clients as they are with her. She is intuitive in her ability to understand a client's needs and can parley that into a successful strategy, either when posting or delivering the message of a campaign through other venues.

Manage branding and marketing for Texex Energy supported brands, primarily Fuelco Energy, a fuel and chemicals provider. Working directly with senior management, sales and operations personnel, I planned and carried out a consistent brand presence at industry events to increase sales and grow brand awareness with potential customers. I also wrote original content and provided graphic design support for company brochures, web pages, and advertising. I learned a great deal about design and its application during my time at Advent from the Creative Director and design team. Daily projects I received were varied, depending upon the format and the client. In most of my projects, I designed and produced various print collateral including brochures, large-format exhibit graphics and event promotions. I also worked directly with major clients to create advertising, annual reports, award submissions, brand concepts, and campaign materials.
