Burke Stone
Justin came into a family business with no knowledge of food safety, HACCP, GFSI, or USDA requirements, We handed him a book and said get this company ready to pass all the required audits we have. In less than 6 months Justin had the programs written and in place. We passed every audit he was ever involved in and made us a stronger company year after year. His desire for continues knowledge makes him an asset in everything he does. He isn't afraid of trying things that are new, because he knows he will learn the skills he needs to succeed. His greatest gift to any company he works for is his honesty, he will tell anyone what he thinks in any situation he is asked about. If it goes with the mainstream thinking, or if he thinks the company is on the wrong path he will say that, and will back it up with sound knowledge. Once the decision is made and he is told what to do he will do the best he can to make it happen.

Justin has a very distinctive quality that separates him from the average: he is driven by an extraordinary desire to learn with the end goal of adding unique value to the organization. This approach has yielded confidence, trust, and rapport with senior organizational leaders and empowered him to drive forward with minimal restraint. He is largely viewed as an

Stone Meats supplies ground beef products to the entire Intermountain Region of the US. I accepted this role as it provided me the opportunity to build a logistics & business intelligence system from the ground up as well as provide operational & statistical expertise. In this role, I designed and presented a comprehensive Six Sigma training program to key managers and led a Six Sigma project initiative to improve company operations and customer satisfaction. I also designed and built an inventory management, resource planning, and corporate finance system that connects front-line operations to every level of the business and drives real-time decision making. This role has allowed me to expand my skill-set into a variety of areas that touch every part of the business. Show less

Business Process Engineer
-
Jun 2014 - Jul 2015
I thoroughly enjoyed this job. My role focused on providing leadership to process improvement teams across our 3000+ employee sized company. I regularly engaged C-level executives and VP's to discuss quality improvement project ideas, progress, and recommendations. My contributions included an SLA model to enable efficient, productive collaboration between organizational silos and deliver a seamless customer experience. I also led cross-functional teams to assess effectiveness of current corporate training program and drove redevelopment of new training model projected to reduce turnover by 15% and associated costs by $600K. I also played a key role in executing, analyzing, and reporting results of our corporate Voice of the Customer Survey.Unfortunately, when our VP of Quality accepted a position with another company, he was not backfilled and our team was eventually dissolved. I was immediately offered the BI Account Manager position (above) in order to keep me with the company. Show less

Operations Analyst

Mar 2014 - Jun 2014
Integracore offers third party logistics to some of the most successful multi-level marketing companies in Utah. In an analyst role, I drove development and adoption of order volume and labor forecasting model. This project yielded a projected $1 million in annual cost savings. I also managed client-facing dashboards to provide client visibility to operations. I absolutely loved my short time and my team at Integracore. We were a collection of young, innovative, and driven analysts that found ways to coordinate our various talents to truly revolutionize the company. We used Agile methods to move fast and develop new BI tools. I became proficient with SQL and familiar with database configuration in this role. I, regrettably, spent so little time with the company due to financial and family reasons. Show less

Dec 2009 - Mar 2014
Stone Meats serves the ground beef market of the US intermountain region. My role oversaw our preliminary BRC certification process. BRC is one of the leading and most rigorous food safety standards accepted globally. I coordinated with plant senior managers in efforts to improve document control and product quality, and I facilitated change management as the company adopted the strict, new safety standards. I also set, communicated, and monitored annual company food safety and quality objectives. I took a six month leave from this position to intern with Kellogg's (below) and increase my expertise in quality and continuous improvement. I enjoyed the exposure that Stone Meats provided to business and manufacturing. Show less

My role was in a facility that produced veggie burgers. As a summer intern, I assessed root causes of chief customer complaints and implemented continual reporting mechanism to enable improvement efforts. I created an Excel tool providing consistent visibility to quality across various product lines and equipment settings. Kellogg's introduced me to Lean and Six Sigma. I thoroughly enjoyed learning from this position and my mentors. At the end of the summer internship, I was offered an additional 3 month position due to my contributions to the team. We planned to bring me on full-time but, unfortunately, the plant was relocated before I finished my degree. Show less
