Musician, Exploring Visual Art
-
2010 - 2011
As I was working on my second solo album, "Why is the Question", I began to intensely question myself about "why" I played music at all, and found it necessary to look outside of the music realm for answers. Starting in 2010, I began to study Visual Arts and attended the Art Students League of New York. Working in mixed media, my visual work consisted of acrylic, thread, charcoal and ink.Examples of visual art: http://www.artvenue.com/artists/jung-jun-yung2011: Art was shown at Refuge Cafe in Allston, MA as part of the "Rock City Art Tour".https://www.facebook.com/events/292315114114592/"Jung Jun Yung" is the most phonetically-honest translation of my legal Chinese name (I was born in Hong Kong), and it was an opportunity to strip away all unnecessary attachments to my identity."Why is the Question" was completed and released on October 12, 2011.you can hear it here: http://jungjunyung.bandcamp.com/album/why-is-the-question
