Luke was Student Chair of Discovery when I was Chair of the Trustees. He was solid and reliable, good at handling people, and dealt with limited resources in a creative and effective way. I would be very happy to work with him again.

Christine Watson MBE

Luke was always an enthusiastic volunteer, working with older people to provide student led activities at large scale events. After his year studying abroad, Luke was elected as Student President of our Charity. Luke was a strategic thinker who worked on our business plan, successfully applied for the organisation to become a recognised centre of inter-generational practice, and enabled Discovery to win the High Sheriff of West Glamorgan's award for voluntary service. Luke was always professional and represented the organisation in meetings such as the Student Affairs Committee, where he successfully had the charity added to the agenda. He also chaired Discovery's Board of Trustee meetings. Both of these meetings involved high level university people and Luke never failed to impress! I found Luke to be a great support in my role, managing the charity - he worked closely with me on all aspects of our work, including finances, legal issues, personnel issues and strategic planning. Luke also managed his time well and continued to be involved with the volunteers (we have around 400) and the projects ( we have over 30) in his role as Student President. Luke takes his roles very seriously and always likes to achieve as much as possible - he will be a real asset to future employers.
