I had the great pleasure working with Lisa Russell for 6 years in Regal Entertainment Group’s HR Dept. Lisa demonstrated great attention to detail, strategic planning, forward thinking, excellent work habits, strong work ethic, project management, and exceptional organizational skills, which I aspire to have one day. During our time at Regal, we worked extremely well together on shared projects. At the time, Regal had an average of 550 locations, in 40 states, and over 25,000 employees. I share this information to show her range of labor law compliance in multiple states, including child labor laws. Lisa was reliable not only in her work product, but also in her attendance and punctuality. By demonstrating how well she works with others, she had proven herself to be a valuable team player. I would be delighted to work with Lisa again. Given Lisa’s well-rounded foundation in Operations and HR, I am confident she would be an excellent addition to any staff. No doubt she would exceed an employer’s expectations.

Paul Kelley Volunteer Academy (PKVA) is a non-traditional public high school. PKVA prides itself on its commitment to helping at-risk students graduate where they would not in a traditional classroom environment. All students must apply to the program, show their willingness to learn and graduate, and ultimately be approved to enroll at PKVA. Due to the nature of the school, I had a continuous flow of students and helped plan 2 graduation ceremonies each school year. In this role, I acted as the school's gatekeeper and supported the administrative needs of staff, students, and performed accurate bookkeeping.Upon recognizing the need, I took the initiative to re-organize and streamline the administrative offices in order to eliminate inefficiencies. As a result, I and the rest of the team were able to be more productive in a sometimes stressful and fast-paced environment.I effectively assisted the school counselor and principal with student enrollment applications by creating files, screening applicants, and scheduling face-to-face interviews. By prioritizing this process, the counselor, and principal had more time to focus on other duties.Supervisor Testimonials:“Lisa brings to the position clear and effective communication skills. She collaborates well with others and effectively prioritizes to complete all tasks on time.”“Lisa creates a welcoming environment for all stakeholders and has developed processes to make her responsibilities flow more effectively.”“Lisa brings competence and calmness to the front office. She treats everyone with respect and demonstrates great professional boundaries. She welcomes the students and parents in the manner which PKVA would want them to be welcomed.”–Janice Cook, Principal, PKVATechnology:Bookkeeping & Accounting Software | Academic Information System | Absence Management Information System | Microsoft Office | Microsoft Word | Microsoft Excel | Microsoft Outlook | Microsoft Outlook Calendar Show less

    • Facility Use Coordinator [Promotion]
      • Sep 2015 - Nov 2016

Knox County Schools has a program in place where members of the public can request to use the school buildings or grounds for not-for-profit events and activities. The school system saw this as a way to engage with the community.I revised the annual stakeholder training presentation so that it was more efficient and covered all the key points. I then invited school personnel who used the Facility Use Management & Scheduling Software to attend. This assisted the staff members in becoming more familiar with the program as well as the board policy requirements. This also aided me by allowing more time to devote to other tasks rather than consistently correcting common errors and addressing non-compliance issues. In addition, I implemented internal controls for the accounts receivable process. According to my Key Performance Indicator (KPI) statistics, the rate of payments collected vs. total billed was 65 percent in the quarter prior to accepting the post. The rate of payments received vs. total billed was 99 percent in the final quarter of my term. As a result, the system lost fewer funds, preserving the county taxpayers' assets.Technology:Facility Use Management, Scheduling Software | Accounts Receivable Software | Internet Navigation | Microsoft Office | Microsoft Word | Microsoft Excel | Microsoft Outlook | Microsoft PowerPoint Show less

    • Maintenance & Operations Administrative Secretary
      • Sep 2013 - Sep 2015

I wore many hats in this role for Knox County Schools. The Maintenance & Operations department is responsible for cleaning and maintaining over 90 schools covering over 1500 acres. A key part of my job was to ensure the cafeteria's kitchen and food service equipment was operating efficiently at all times. I also performed many other administrative tasks within the department. The fast-paced and stressful environment of this job required high-caliber multitasking and problem-solving skills. In this role, I easily handled a high volume of phone calls. I effectively demonstrated a strong sense of urgency and analytical skills to determine which calls were a priority and which could wait. I had to be really flexible because of the nature of my work. I enthusiastically displayed variety, flexibility, and a readiness to work within a constantly changing environment.I have the gift of learning new technologies quickly. Because of the nature of my work, I had to navigate between a number of different software programs. In various systems, I had to log and route calls, track inventory, submit work order requests, approve purchase orders, coordinate accounts payable, and enter payroll hours. The Food Service Director and Area Managers often complimented my excellent organizational skills and customer service focus. My leaders frequently praised my exceptional Microsoft Excel skill level. Scholastic is the world's largest children's books publisher and distributor. They connect with educators by providing students a one-of-a-kind experience in the form of a “book fair.” My work location was responsible for packaging and transporting “book fair” setups and materials to area schools. This was an administrative support position with an emphasis on new hire onboarding & orientation. In addition to my administrative experience, my manager chose me for this position due to my extensive background in human resources. Because this business operated on a seasonal basis, there was a high level of turnover, which resulted in a great need for someone with experience in labor and hiring laws and the onboarding procedures. Fortunately, I was very proficient in these areas. I created a new hire onboarding process as well as a new hire orientation plan. I also developed a secure personnel file & retention record-keeping system. In addition, I educated management on employment law, performed phone screening of candidates, and scheduled face-to-face interviews for my manager. These processes made the hiring procedure considerably easier and more efficient. Another achievement I am proud of is, I successfully implemented an email marketing initiative to attract more local educators to our annual warehouse sales events. My email campaigns resulted in a 30% increase in attendance, which led to a greater increase in event sales. It had long been my ambition to work as a real estate broker. After choosing to leave my prior role, I decided it was the ideal time to try it. I spent time completing licensure courses and received a 97 % on my exam, which is far higher than the 70% passing rate. Unfortunately, cutthroat real estate sales were not one of my strong suits, especially in a down market. I learned a lot about contract negotiation and legal document completion in this role. I also gained a knack for researching and determining market rates. In addition, I excelled at preparing and delivering presentations to clients. All of these, in my opinion, are excellent transferrable skills for future positions. • Regional Human Resources Manager [Promotion]
      • Aug 2010 - Oct 2010

As a result of my hard work and dedication over the previous six years, I rose from HR File Auditing Clerk to HR Regional Manager in the Human Resources Department. My prior position was eliminated due to a corporate restructuring, and the VP of Human Resources appointed me to this position. This was a highly specialized position. My key responsibilities were to collaborate with field management regarding disciplinary actions and termination procedures. I presented a great deal of knowledge regarding company policy and employment law, along with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. • Human Resources Administrator
      • Sep 2008 - Aug 2010

This was a specialized position and highly demanding. My key responsibility in this role was to properly manage the company Appeals Policy process. If an employee was disciplined or terminated, they had the right to request a review and ask to be reinstated. I was promoted to this position when my previous role was eliminated. This was a fantastic part for me. I enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate with key leaders in the company, the challenge of assessing employee competency and successfully building my investigative skills.
