I’ve known Marsha for more than 3 years since she was one of the Admissions Managers for my Physician Assistant program at Touro University Nevada. I later came to work directly under her and the rest of the Admissions team during my work-study job as a Student Processor. I’ve always felt like Marsha was someone who was extremely knowledgeable and professional, but at the same time, she was someone I could always come to and ask questions like a friend. Now while I was very aware she was one of my superiors while I was at school, talking and working with Marsha was always informational, conversational, and overall really enjoyable— and I know for a fact that many of my fellow students also shared the same sentiment. Personally, I was distraught when I learned she would be leaving the world of academia for new career ventures, but at the same time, I was happy she was pursuing something new and exciting because that’s just how Marsha is. She’s always excited about something and her excitement is infectious to those around her. As a newly board-certified Physician Assistant practicing Emergency Medicine in the state of Nevada, I am glad that I had the chance to work with Marsha before she changed fields. I am certain she would make a great and efficient member in all of her future career endeavors.

Marsha is a delightful professional to work with. She is very organized, personable, thorough, detail-oriented and of excellent work ethic! During her time at MAIS, she'd always take the initiatives to get projects completed, provide quality service and support for our students and our team. She was able to handle many responsibilities with ease, grace and competence! It's a true blessing having Marsha on the MAIS team!

I’ve had a few side gigs in my professional career. Some I pursued for extra cash, trying something new, or getting back to doing what I love. Working as a reporter for Living Local with the Baraquios gave me the opportunity to present on cultural aspects of Hawaii, fun things to do on the islands, and outreach efforts organizations were working hard on. One of my favorite interviews was with ukulele legend, Bill Tapia, who was 100 years old at the time. He had so many fun memories about how his love of music began as a child listening to Hawaiians playing ukulele in Nuuanu Valley, how he bought his first uke for 75 cents, and that later in his career he gave Shirley Temple a pineapple ukulele and gave her a lesson at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.
