Bio
Ruben Ruiz de Gauna
I worked side-by-side with Paulo for close to 3 years on a variety of different technical projects. He's an incredibly rounded individual with a surprisingly high-level of talents in many areas - all of which he executes with the great professionalism and skill. For example, he architected several areas of our information systems, oversaw the planning and prioritizing of issues, wrote technical specifications, executed QA/testing, did all of the UX-related work (wireframes, graphic design, etc.) and wrote front-end code for our application. Contrary to what one might expect from seeing Paulo's professional CV, he has extensive knowledge of the entire front-end technology stack. And although his latest positions by title don't traditionally involve coding, he would have fit perfectly in our development workflow as frontend engineer. In my position as the Senior Developer, I often consulted Paulo for doubts or questions related to JavaScript or CSS. He has always shown an excellent knowledge of these languages and their intricacies, and has a passion about being on top of the latest trends in client side technologies - regularly finding opportunities to use them in our development workflow. He involves himself in the online JS community - contributing to open source projects, maintaining his own, and participating in technical meetups. Perhaps this is what makes him able to explain and discuss the technology so well. If there are any doubts about his technical capability, especially regarding front-end development, don't hesitate to ask.

Paulo is a very sharp technologist. When I worked with him he was providing development and documentation work for Etna and out of the gate proved to be very gifted in technology. Paulo was easy to get along with and produced high quality work. I recommend him without hesitation.
