I have worked with Ash for over 3 years at JWT. She is one of the few talented writers who not only writes like a dream, but is also an original and fresh ‘ideas’ person. Testimony of which lies in her awards at Cannes and other international shows. She is also one of those rare creatives who has the ability to think strategically on brands. She can distill a brand issue with much ease and even come up with the brand strategy sometimes even before she has started to think of creative solutions, in many ways she has made my job easier :) Having an extensive experience in multinational FMCG brands, she thinks in a very logical manner – thinking 360 is her forte. She is truly an ‘Ad person’ who lives and breathes advertising. Her passion for the advertising business is demonstrated in more ways than one on a day-to-day basis, and of course, she is up to date with the latest in the industry - creative work or about the business itself. One of her key strengths is new media and her immense knowledge of the ever changing digital media scene, which is a pre-requisite these days. In fact, she almost took up a full time job as a professional tweeter recently, but her love for advertising held her back. I will not wax eloquent about her creative work as her book will speak for itself, and you will realize for yourself why she is a great hire.

I won't talk about the level of Ash's creative output or any of that - I'll let her work speak for itself. I'll talk about personality traits that give her a distinctive edge over other creatives. Ash's consistently positive attitude and love for her work is unwavering in the face of obstacles or rounds and rounds of feedback. Her maturity, and the fact that she's her own biggest critic (after her partner Nizar of course) leads her to - with starry eyes and ears perked up - listen intently whenever she's given input on her work. She digests the feedback objectively - with no ego (a rarity) - and then either happily incorporates it, or provides a reasonable counter argument (a rarity). All driven by her passion for making her work the best it can be, and her understanding of the bigger picture of the brands she's working on. I'm going on about this because of how it affects the creative process - her positiveness and open-mindedness, along with her strong leadership skills, allows creative development to take on new levels of energy, collaboration and fun, which ultimately does wonders for the final product. This girl's going to go a long way. A pleasure to work with.
