Spanish Tutor
-
Oct 2014 - Present
I work regularly with Spanish students to help them better understand the material they are learning and to help them prepare for test and quizzes. I strive to present the material in a way that makes sense to each student, and I look for ways to help them study effectively. I am qualified to tutor Spanish 1, 2, 3, and 4. Data Coordinator
-
Oct 2014 - Mar 2015
I communicated daily with various newspaper vendors via telephone and e-mail in order to update information quarterly in NDX’s database, for use by advertisers. I interpreted the data provided to me in order to enter it in a format that was both compatible with NDX’s system and that portrayed the data accurately, requiring that I work extensively with Microsoft Excel. I also followed and monitored quality assurance measures through NDX's internal data system and by communicating regularly with the client service team. Show less

Latino Affairs Intern for Mayor Greg Ballard
-
Jun 2014 - Aug 2014
I worked in the office of Mayor Greg Ballard as an assistant with the Latino Affairs programs. This allowed me to plan and market both long-term and short-term events, through internal communication methods, as well as external media partnerships (with the Indy Star newspaper, billboards) and direct marketing strategies. It was estimated that the short-term citywide event that I helped plan was attended by about 7,000 people. In planning the long-term event - a soccer tournament, I communicated regularly with potential sponsors, exhibitors, coaches, and parents. In addition to these events, I assisted in daily tasks and coordinated communication among the Latino community through items such as a bi-monthly newsletter and a monthly television recording. Multilingual intern
-
Jun 2013 - Jul 2013
As an intern working with the Marketing department and the Multilingual division, I contacted churches and mission organizations to receive feedback about Concordia's Spanish and bilingual products. This gave me experience with Microsoft Excel, cold calling, and communication via e-mail. In addition to this, I compiled a bibliography of Concordia's Spanish and bilingual products for the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language in North America, and I also helped edit and make suggestions for the Spanish Resource Catalog. Plyometric Training Instructor

Jun 2011 - Jul 2012
During the summers, I worked volleyball clinics with PlyoCity, an athletic training organization that works to make athletes "quicker, faster, stronger, and more explosive." This gave me daily experience demonstrating plyometric footwork and running volleyball drills for middle and high school students. In addition to encouraging the players and positively pushing them to do their best, I also developed rapport with parents and monitored player attendance.
