Kane Forrester
Idene is one of those rare IT technicians who are able to re-prioritize on the fly - giving him the flexibility to serve the Newcastle studio's IT needs in a truly efficient and impressive manner. No job was too big or too small and his focus remains squarely on user satisfaction and their ability to continue working - which is a priceless quality, especially in a technology/software driven company. Idene's upbeat personality also lends itself fantastically well to the personable aspects of working in a team and he has a massively positive impact on studio morale. I cannot recommend Idene enough as an IT technician and a co-worker.

I have used Idene in both a professional and personal environment. Firstly Idene produced fantastic photos of my wedding in 2010, we chose him because we knew he would capture the mood of the celebration, he certainly did this !! Last year we needed some professional photography for our website and promotional materials. Idene was my first choice, he was flexible to our needs and again produced some fantastic shots, these included portraits, a large group shot and some amazing abstract work. I would recommend Idene to anyone and look forward to working with him again in the future.

Level DesignerSumo NewecastleCURRENT PROJECTUnannounced UE5 PrototypeGenre: FPSI created an FPS shooter based around the standard Horde game mode. I designed the core concept and the IP itself. - I created 4 maps, 3 unique ones and 1 that was a nighttime variant all built with art. - Created an enemy spawn system and an enemy wave system based around my enemy designs. All locked and balanced into times for delivering more hordes. - Created a method of having over 250+ enemies on screen at the same time- Completed a daily balance pass on the game including 3C’s, TTK, Wave difficulty, Wave Frequency, randomization of loot drops and ability drops. - Created 3 abilities that synergized with each other. - Ensured that shooting the enemies was a fun and satisfying experience by using audio and specialist 2D VFX sequences to create brief 1 second bites of AV dopamine. PREVIOUS PROJECTJune 2021 - Dec 22Unannounced ProjectGenre: FPS- Joined project team in June and learned custom game engine.- Balanced weapons and set up nine for prototyping with mechanisms for future weapons.- Designed an area with two rooms and a puzzle to unlock a door before boss battle.- Created decoy weapon on paper and implemented it with artists, coders, and animators.- Iterated on map sections for better movement and traversal, working with seniors.- Designed and implemented unique weapons with team.- Created gyms for tonal shift testing and readiness, guiding players through unorthodox routes.
