Additionally, during the recruitment process, I act as an interviewer for hiring foreign engineers. After assuming the manager role following the establishment of the machine learning development team, I worked as a division manager during the 1→10 growth stage to enhance the organization's development capabilities. This includes proposing strategies for introducing a modern ML platform and undertaking efforts to establish MLOps infrastructure. In preparation for organizational expansion, I have improved the hiring process for machine learning engineers by creating and implementing ML coding assignments, conducting design interviews, and enhancing the overall recruitment flow. I am also accountable for the organization's headcount and budget planning based on the company's business plans as a cross-organization division in the Money Forward, Inc. As an Engineering Manager, I led and coordinated four distinct machine learning teams, undertaking management responsibilities for various projects. Additionally, I conducted 1-on-1 meetings, provided mentorship, and performed evaluations for each group of 3 to 6 members. 80% of the team members were non-Japanese-speaking global engineers, and all tasks, including team management and evaluation feedback, were conducted in English. In some projects, we had to make tough decisions, such as discontinuing development or removing features based on the results of effectiveness verification. While maintaining the team members' motivation, we worked on redefining goals and enhancing the team's resilience to cope with such situations. I actively participated in developing the Code of Ethics for AI, contributing to establishing internal AI ethics, risk mitigation, and governance measures. Additionally, I contributed to evaluating the commercialization of one of the themes within the internal research organization, R4D, and played a role in developing business plans for the initiative.
