I have known Akira since December of 2020. Since then, he was a member of my seminar. In our seminar, we first read the book "Introductory Statistics for Business and Economics" by Wonnacott and Wonnacott. Then, we read "Introduction to Econometrics by Stock and Watson. In addition, we read empirical economics paper on immigration (by David Card), the minimum wage (by Card and Kruger), the effect of air pollution on mortality (by Greenstone), the effect of HIV on human capital (by Fortson), the effect of health insurance on labor supply (by Gruber). Thus, I am confident to say that he knows statistics, econometrics, and their applications very well.
