Kaoru Sakatani received the MD from Osaka Medical College, Osaka, Japan, in 1981, the Ph.D. in Medicine from the graduate school of Osaka Medical College (1987), and the Ph.D. in Engineering from the graduate school of Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan, in 1998.
