Bioengineering Department-Microalgae Process Laboratory -Worked on a multidisciplinary project aimed at Peptide based tyrosinase inhibitors from microalgal proteins and determination of potential inhibitory activities(Investigation of activities of trypsin, pancreatin and alkalase enzymes on melanoma cells and fungus). -Gained valuable experience about teamwork and improved time managament skills. Learned quite important things about microalgal processing and process analytics. Bioengineering Department-Molecular Genetics Laboratory -Gained research experience about current projects and learned DNA extraction(Microprep DNA isolation) and how to use bioinformatic tools. Learned knowledge in computer science and learned R programming(programming, data frames, blasting)and studied retrotransposons with the help of other members in the laboratory. -Learned gel alignment and band scoring to investigate polymorphisms. -The similarities of Triticum, Hordeum vulgare L., Oryza sativa, Zea mays, Lens culinaris and Prunus domestica were investigated with the help of FASTA format(an input format). -Improved myself about plant genetics and basic techniques, especially electrophoresis.
