Conducted an honours research project investigating the cannabinomimetic activity of A. millefolium, a traditional medicinal plant, as well as its chemical composition.Based on literature and bioactivity assays done on this plant, preliminary assessment of its potential use for treatment of schizophrenia symptoms was done.Carried on further research during the summer following thesis.

During a 4 month research internship through an NSERC USRA, I participated in various neuroendocrinology research projects. The research laboratory's central theme was that puberty is a critical period of development during which immune challenges may greatly increase the risk of psychopathologies in later life. Greatest contribution was on a project looking at the effects of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on cytokine expression in pubertal mice.

Through a UROP Award, I conducted a research project for the Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences with purpose to prepare the department for an external evaluation by the Canadian Society of Chemistry. I created a database of all courses in the analytical and inorganic streams, interviewed professors, and constructed report with final recommendations. I participated in the research symposium. Project led to changes in chemistry undergraduate curriculums within the department.
