Etienne is in charge of the business development, fundraising and the global strategy for C4. He is laser-focused on cementing distribution and strategic partnerships to accelerate the product’s global distribution and the company’s growth. Etienne is responsible for managing C4’s relationship with external partners including marketing, logistics and distribution partners. Originally, he was the creative lead of the project and oversaw mechanical design for the Ohm’s Quest console. He imagined the UX and the product’s form-factor for the original concept. Together with Allison, he came up with puzzles and stories as well as developing the initial prototype. Working hand-in-hand with a digital marketing agency, he helped lead Ohm’s Quest to a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign ($250K+ raised) in June 2022. Beforehand, Etienne raised public and private funding to make this campaign possible. Etienne had additional entrepreneurial coaching while this project was incubated at Wacano (in partnership with StartThe****Up). Ohm's Quest, C4’s first product, is the world's first Escape Room console. Mixing elements of video games and board-games, Ohm’s Quest offers players exciting audio-first adventures in which they must solve puzzles using the console’s interfaces to progress in the game. With screen-free, educational and inter-generational adventures, players dive into a wide range of eras and locations across time. Etienne prepared the business plan, financial models and investigated strategic partners for a team-building product (aMazingCube). He imagined and developed the concept for a unique product aimed at company gatherings. He was responsible for coming up with the design, 3D modeling and 3D printing the pieces and deciding which hardware interfaces to integrate into the prototype. Development of the aMazingCube console spurred IoT contracts as well as B2B team-building contracts. He also prepared quotes and cemented agreements for contracts to develop custom IoT solutions for B2B clients in parallel with this project’s development. He underwent an intense entreprenurial training programme while this project was incubated at the SQYCUB (in partnership with IncubAlliance). The aMazingCube is a cubic-shaped box that unfolds on a table and contains hidden compartiments that open as the players progress in the game. The gameplay follows an audio story in which players must use a wide variety of tactile hardware interfaces – illuminated buttons, keybads, switches, cables, etc. - to collaboratively solve puzzles and win the game before the time runs out. Much like an Escape Room experience, the playtime is limited to 60 minutes and players can request hints via a dedicated interface.
