Overview

An initiative by the United Nations Information Centre for India & Bhutan, the UNYCC is a platform for changemakers, students, young professionals, entrepreneurs, and innovators. The agenda is to enable them to engage with leaders from the field of business, politics, media, the arts, international affairs and social impact. The inaugural conclave was held in 2011 at the UNIC Headquarters in New Delhi and for the last 3 years, it also takes place in Mumbai. So far, over 6000 young Indians have been selected to participate from over 18000 applicants. The conclave is run by a group of social entrepreneurs, media professionals and communication experts with the support of team UNIC. This year, the theme is The Business of Change: Agenda 2030” and is scheduled for Saturday, 28th January 2017 at the Siri Fort Auditorium, August Kranti Marg, New Delhi. Through this dialogue, we would like to explore the collaborative role of business organizations, social enterprises and the government in enabling positive social impact with reference to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations. The Conclave will be attended by 2000 young changemakers, entrepreneurs, diplomats, students and leaders from the development sector. The United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in New Delhi covers India and Bhutan and was the first United Nations office to be established in independent India in 1947. Its activities reflect a broad spectrum: the Centre plays a major role in publicizing UN initiatives and programs, engaging in a variety of outreach activities, like lectures, media briefings and press conferences, TV and radio interviews, exhibitions etc. UNIC conducts information activities on behalf of UN agencies without local representation and maintains close co-operation with and assists UN agencies based in India.
