Overview

Israel's leading women's organization actively promotes care in the community through its many volunteer-led women's and youth centers and programs to enhance the quality of life of women, children, youth, families and the elderly. WIZO operates some 800 projects, programs and institutions providing crucial social services, support, welfare, early learning and educational solutions to create an equal Israeli society, with great emphasis on strengthening the weaker sectors and advancing the status of women. WIZO's vast network of care includes shelters for battered women, foster homes, youth villages as well as day care centers for babies from six months old and comprehensive care for vulnerable children and youth. WIZO is a non-partisan international movement supported by a global force of women volunteers in federations worldwide.
