Overview

Founded in 2005, the Wood River Women’s Foundation (WRWF) inspires and educates women to become leaders in philanthropy. Through pooled grant-making the WRWF has awarded more than $3.2M to Blaine County, Idaho nonprofits with more than a $500K going to educational programs. In 2021 the WRWF awarded a record-breaking $100K of individual grants to organizations working on elementary school literacy, assisting students in K-8 who have fallen behind due to the pandemic, and providing summer enrichment programming to keep first and second graders on track. WRWF is a collective of women who pool their contributions in order to achieve greater community impact while advancing their philanthropic skills. All women are welcome to join and participate in assessing the dozens of applications received each year, and vote on the awards. Since launching, the WRWF has grown to more than 350 members and is now one of the largest collective giving circles in the country. Wood River Women's Foundation has: - Awarded nearly $3 million dollars through more than 100 grants to nonprofit organizations across our community in an array of areas including Arts, Education, Environment, Health & Recreation and Social Services. - Launched an Endowment Fund in 2017 to ensure sustainability well into the future. - Emphasized and offered philanthropic education to help members become more effective donors. Whether you live in the Wood River Valley year-round or part-time, or are just visiting, please come join us! We host numerous events throughout the year, connecting members through social, educational, and grant-focused gatherings. Members enjoy the many opportunities to create lasting friendships and to increase their knowledge of philanthropy. @wrwomensfoundation
