Women in Tourism Botswana is a non- governmental organisation founded in 2019 by Miss Bokani Mathape as an initiative to create a network of women in the tourism and hospitality industry in Botswana. Our mission is to empower young people to thrive in their dreams, goals and aspirations through tangible and measurable combined efforts. Our mandate at WIT Botswana is to share that experience by forming a solid network of Women and eventually men in the tourism and hospitality industry, by unearthing hidden gems. This will be achieved by mentoring, empowering, grooming and creating awareness about their work. We also intend to liaise with the tourism sector as a whole to contribute to the growth and development of the industry both locally and abroad! At the core of our organisation, we strive to create a safe heaven for our members in fostering strong relationships within the tourism sector through extensive skills development, diversification, supporting infrastructure and local communities, as well as promoting the sustainable development goals.
