WJ Private Equity ("WJ PE") is an independent private equity firm in Korea, with particular strength in middle-market deals across the world. WJ PE is founded by Darren WJ Jang, who has more than 20 years of intensive experiences in diverse areas of private equity investing and financial advisory tasks. In his previous position, he was an executive for Mirae Asset Private Equity, one of largest private equity firms in Korea. His deal experience includes cross border acquisitions of USD 1 billion investment. <Key transactions are as below>: - Acushnet (Around USD 600 million investment, best known for its Titleist golf ball No. 1 in the market, and equipment around the world) - The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf - Londian Electronics (one of the biggest supplier of copper foil for lithium batteries in China) - SRS (franchise and operator of Burger King in Korea) He has served on the board of directors for numerous Korean and foreign companies, and he boasts extensive business and institutional investor-network in Korea. Mr. Jang received Master’s degree from London Business School. The sectors of portfolio under the WJ PE are Aircraft-parts manufacturer, the development and manufacturing of high-performance lithium-metal (Li-Metal) rechargeable batteries for electric vehicles (EVs) and the other applications.
