Overview

Saarang, the annual cultural festival of IIT Madras, is the largest student-run festival in India. Having started off under the banner of 'Mardi Gras' in 1974, Saarang, as India’s second-oldest college fest, strives to set the standard for cultural festivals as a coalescence of art, cultures and festivities. Over 75000 visitors from across the country enjoyed Saarang’s enthralling ProShows and lively events over the course of 5 days in the serene and magnificent campus of IITM in its latest edition. The nights at Saarang have witnessed phenomenal performances from both eminent Indian artists including Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Farhan Akhtar, Rajesh Vaidya and Shobana and famed international artists like Opeth, AronChupa, Dubvision, and Katatonia. Saarang aims to give back to society and has reached out to its surrounding community through its social campaigns, such as L.E.A.P ( The Learning Education and Accessibility Project) - which promoted accessibility to education over its course of 2 years. This year Saarang plans to sensitize Mental Health through its social campaign “MANN” by enabling conversations and spreading awareness. Follow our page for regular updates.
