Overview

The Western Music Education Association (WMEA) is a non-profit company formed to support music education across India. The mission of the Association is to positively affect music learning in India by providing institutional guidance and quality professional development for music teachers. WMEA supports music education through providing professional development and support to teachers, school administrators and students of western music in India by: - Providing international institutional affiliation for music teachers regardless of status (e.g. part-time, full-time, private, and academic) as well as member schools. - Advocating to state and central government for the advancement of western music education in the schools to help strengthen working conditions of the teachers. - Providing consultancy in the areas of law, accountancy, music business, marketing, music careers among many others. - Providing quality professional development through workshops, master classes, conferences, music festivals, and online resources.
