The Weirton Area Ambulance & Rescue Squad, Inc. provides emergency medical services with highly trained and licensed emergency medical personnel who provide 911 emergency services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As an independent, non-profit organization serving the city of Weirton in Brooke and Hancock Counties, the Weirton Area Ambulance & Rescue Squad, Inc., or W.A.A.R.S., has served the local area for over 40 years. W.A.A.R.S. also provides non-emergency medical ambulance inter-facility transports to area hospitals throughout the Pittsburgh region that meet medical necessity requirements, dependent upon crew availability and maintaining adequate 911 coverage of the territory.
