Overview
The United States Courts are an independent, national judiciary providing fair and impartial justice within the jurisdiction conferred by the Constitution and Congress. The United States District Court for the Western District of Texas (in case citations, W.D. Tex.) is a federal district court. The court executive office is in San Antonio with divisions in Austin, Del Rio, El Paso, Midland, Pecos, and Waco. The court also operates in Alpine and Fort Hood. It has jurisdiction in over 50 counties of the state of Texas and covers over 92,000 square miles.
