Overview

The Watford African Caribbean Association (WACA) is a registered charitable organisation and is one of the longest running African Caribbean Associations in the UK, since being established in 1976. WACA aims to protect, promote and support the interests of the African and Caribbean community in and around Watford, through the provision of a range cross-generational user-led services. These services include the following - Thrive Youth Project: A group that meet weekly, providing food and clothing donations and offering place to meet and socialise. 50+ Activity Group: A weekly club aimed at both men and women, that host a mixture of activities that include arts and crafts, games, health awareness, trips and excursions and more. Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Support Group: A group providing support, counselling and information to sufferers and carers regarding this inherited cross-generational, multi-cultural blood condition. Black History in Watford: We have a dedicated team that are commited to working and finding ways we can continue to celebrate Black History all year. Health & Wellbeing Champions: We host events and talks about a range of topics regarding health and wellbeing to educate and inform the community.
