Overview

The Foundation exists principally to run the annual Waterline Challenge ®, an Australia-wide event to raise much needed dollars to assist those in need. The foundation may be involved in other events during the year. Our moto is "United to Conquer Adversity" ®. The Waterline Challenge Foundation is the brainchild of Julian Day who is the CEO. He is a three times survivor of childhood cancer who has raised money by conducting a series of sponsored walks along different parts of the Australian coast line. It was during these original solitary experiences in the natural environment that Julian became inspired to create the Waterline Challenge Foundation to encourage others, to band together, to raise funds to help not only people suffering adversity but also animals and nature itself. The challenge of each annual Waterline Challenge event is to "circumnavigate" the Australian coastline by accumulating the efforts of thousands of Australian walkers, runners, riders, paddlers, swimmers and sailors on one weekend in November. During this same weekend the other part of the challenge is to raise much needed dollars for up to 20 different charities. These charities all help conquer adversity faced by people, animals and nature. The Waterline Challenge Foundation company structure consists of a Board and an Executive Committee and a team of (currently) about 20 volunteer members. The members of Waterline Board are Greg Whatley (Chairman) Julian Day (CEO) Will Cummins The members of the Waterline Executive Committee are Julian Day (Chief Executive Officer) Vahe Hamparian (Chief Financial Officer) Craig Spence (Chief Operating Officer) Louise Bradley (Marketing Manager) Paul Trunoff (IT Advisor)
