Overview

WASDA was established as a non-governmental organization under Kenyan Law in 1995 to supplement the efforts of government and other stakeholders, to address some of the developmental challenges facing the Horn of Africa. In its 20 years working with Pastoralists, WASDA has reached 1.5 million people in Northern Kenya and Southern Somalia with improved sources of livelihood, food security, water, sanitation and hygiene. VISION WASDA’s vision is to have empowered communities in the Horn of Africa that are resilient, innovative and peaceful. MISSION WASDA’s mission is to mobilize and engage communities and other stakeholders in creating strategic partnerships for sustainable management of the environment, water resources, livelihoods, education and public health services in the Horn of Africa.
