We also run the Remote Schools Attendance Strategy in the three Central Australian sites of Yuendumu, Ntaria and Papunya. We have 30 staff working across these programs, two thirds of our work force are local Indigenous workers. The major focus areas across our programs are: -Increasing school attendance and engagement -Increasing local employment outcomes -Increasing cultural leaderships opportunities Wanta is the Warlpiri word for the ‘Sun’. This is representative of our vision to provide a brighter future and new opportunities for the kids we work with. The name of the organisation was agreed to after consultation with the community members of Yuendumu.
