Overview

The Victorian Public Sector (VPS) Women of Colour Network (WoCN) was established in January 2019 by a group of passionate women at the Department of Premier and Cabinet's (DPC) Multicultural Affairs and Social Cohesion Division. Today, the VPS WoCN has over 800+ members and allies, providing a safe, supportive and inclusive space for women of colour from all walks of life. We advocate for greater inclusion and for our intersectional voices to be heard on matters impacting us including gender equality, Anti-Racism and diversity and inclusion. We strive to contribute to our community by advocating the voices of Women of Colour in the Victorian public sector, providing support on various issues with lived experiences and data to inform the development of policies and programs that better meet the needs of our members. The VPS WoCN is run by a group of passionate volunteer staff across the VPS self-identifying as Women of Colour.
