Overview

VIEW is the professional membership association of QTVIs (Qualified Teachers of children and young people with vision impairment), and all professionals supporting children and young people with vision impairment, including Heads of Service, Learning Support/Teaching Assistants or Technicians (Specialist VI), mobility and habilitation specialists, retired and trainee QTVIs. VIEW provides members with support and a range of resources, and brings them together through career development activities, professional networks and peer support events, and an annual national professional development conference. VIEW also offers a portfolio of training courses to help education professionals understand the implications of vision impairment for teaching and learning. Representation is made to the Government on issues regarding the education of children with a vision impairment. The VIEW Committee is comprised of professionals with particular expertise within the field of vision impairment and education provision. These individuals provide leadership in moving VIEW forward to constantly improve benefits and services to the professionals who work and support the education and welfare of children with a vision impairment. VIEW works to safeguard standards of provision, and raise the profile of the field.
