Overview

The Veterans Cannabis Coalition is dedicated to ending cannabis prohibition and criminalization, supporting research, and bringing medicinal cannabis access to veterans in all 50 states. Many in the veteran community struggle under the burden of injuries, suffering from chronic pain, post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injuries, anxiety, and depression--all stemming from their honorable service. Our focus is on education, engagement, and advocacy. We work to educate lawmakers and the general public through informational sessions and multimedia products that feature veterans, law enforcement, medical professionals, and public policy experts laying out common-sense approaches that will ensure broad patient access to quality, regulated medications. We engage with stakeholders across civil society, from teachers to politicians to faith leaders, to find consensus and build support for just and equitable cannabis reform policies. We advocate before the U.S. Congress for legislation that will materially enhance scientific understanding of cannabis compounds, eliminate criminal penalties for simple possession, and allow veterans and their doctors additional options for treatment.
