UVA Engineering Link Lab

Overview

UVA Engineering's Link Lab is a 17,000-square-foot cyber-physical systems research incubator. Link Lab offers a co-located space where close to 46 affiliated faculty members and 280+ graduate students are working together to create and disseminate the cyber technologies that will shape society. Research is arranged in three overlapping areas: autonomous systems, smart and connected health, and smart cities. UVA Engineering's Link Lab has attracted $95+ million in sponsored research funding since September 2016. In smart and connected health, Link Lab is working with the UVA School of Medicine and School of Nursing to advance patient care through technology. For smart cities, Link Lab is engaging communities such as Hampton Roads, Va., to investigate critical systems such as water management, transportation, energy and smart services. Link Lab is also interfacing with citizen advocacies like Smart Cville that promote technology for making cities better places to live.
