Overview

The Finance and Banking Society (FINSOC) is a prestigious constituent society with branches operating in three universities: the University of Sydney, the University of New South Wales and the Australian National University. With over 3,000 student members, FINSOC is one of the largest student society networks in Australia dedicated to inspire, inform, and assist students interested in all the opportunities that finance as a field to offer. The overall purpose of the USYD Finance and Banking Society (FINSOC) is to assist business students with interest in banking and financial planning to achieve their career objectives. The goal to help our student members realise their potential, both academically and professionally. This is achieved through our events and publications, which includes informing them of career opportunities in the financial services industry and hosting networking events with our sponsors. FINSOC seeks to: – Introduce its members to the various disciplines within the world of corporate finance. – To inspire, inform, and assist students interested in all the opportunities that finance as a field to offer – To acquaint students with a wide variety of firms within various areas of finance, thereby creating strong networking opportunities; and – Assist our members to perform at the highest academic level possible
