A camaraderie of fearless, diverse and goal-driven men and women in the name of virtuosity. The UP Mining, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Association, Inc. or the UP 49ers is one of the most established student organizations in the University of the Philippines, Diliman since 1954.The UP 49ers differ radically from other societies because we are not plain acquaintances. We live with a true sense of comradeship. We build lifelong bonds which aid in the development of the members to be capable professionals of the country and be supportive individuals to the fellow youth, inside and outside the UP community. A solid internal bond has always been the organization's direction: the UP 49ers legacy, a bequest that over the years has produced top engineers and leaders who have raced their way towards success, both locally and internationally.
