The University of Zenica is the most recently established university in BiH, but it inherited 45-year long tradition of its members. Legally established by the decision of Zenica-Doboj Canton Assembly of 18 October 2000, it began with its actual work only when institutions of higher education in Zenica were separated from the University of Sarajevo in March 3, 2004.
