UIP is a non-for-profit umbrella association founded in 1950 and promotes rail freight transportation and in particular rail freight wagons concerns at international level. We are the umbrella association of national associations from 14 European countries, thus representing more than 250 wagon keepers with 234.000 freight wagons, performing more than 50 % of the rail freight tonne-Kilometres throughout Europe.
