Overview

The Terrewode Women's Fund is a United States 501.c.3 nonprofit. We support the TERREWODE Women's Community Hospital, a dedicated women's hospital in Uganda. This new hospital is transforming health care in the region, providing improved maternal and health services for women and children, particularly women suffer from obstetric fistula, a childbirth injury. While working in the field of global women’s issues, our founders in the Pacific Northwest began dreaming about supporting women who are among the world’s poorest and most isolated, women suffering from obstetric fistulas. We observed the lack of quality care, opportunity for surgical repair, or the support needed before and after surgery. We quickly realized the need for people to be aware of trustworthy organizations that offer effective care and guidance without undue cost. Terrewode Women's Community Hospital was thus born from the desire to build international support for a Ugandan African women’s organization, Terrewode. Terrewode was founded by a group of highly skilled and professional Ugandan women, who understand and hold the knowledge to help the women in the most financially and socially responsible ways. In this relationship we seek to empower men and women in their communities and promoting social community about the issue of obstetric fistula. TWHF is governed by an international Board of Directors and Board of Advisors who work to accelerate TERREWODE’s capacity to provide health services to families and other issues related to maternal health. The TWHF Board of Directors pays 100% of expenses incurred. transferring donations received to TERREWODE through specific use agreements. We are a 501.c.3 nonprofit organization headquartered in Eugene Oregon. All donations are tax-deductible. IRS Tax ID number: EIN 47-230-4060
